Call for Submissions

The HoSA 2025 Conference Organising Committee invites you to submit your contribution for consideration in the conference program.
Our conference theme is ‘Breaking Barriers’ - fostering innovative strategies and effective practices in Student Administration that minimise obstacles, so all student communities can thrive and succeed. This will give the opportunity for colleagues in Student Administration to discuss challenges, share experiences and showcase initiatives that promote student success.
The Organising Committee is excited to receive submissions that respond to one of the following themes:
Breaking Barriers
Diversity, Equity and/or Inclusion
Student Success
Submissions that do not fit one of these themes but are relevant to Student Administration are also welcome.
Presentation types
The following presentation formats will be available:
Initiative Presentation (60 minutes in length, incl. 15 mins of Q&A)
Present an initiative that has broken barriers, what has worked and what did not work so well
Reflective or research-based presentation (45 minutes in length, incl. 10 mins of Q&A)
Present your research findings or learnings related to Breaking Barriers, Student success or Equity, Diversity and/or inclusion
Process focus session (45 minutes in length, incl. 10 mins of Q&A)
Lead a discussion where participants can share what they are doing in relation to a particular process or function in student admin
Interactive session (45 minutes in length, incl. 10 mins of Q&A)
Student panel on Breaking Barriers - How students would like or need to be communicated with.
Poster session
Set up a display and be prepared for conference participants to read your work and engage with your the content.
Submissions with multiple presenters, including presenters across universities, are most welcome. The Organising Committee reserves the right to assign topics to any of these formats, but in making a submission, you should indicate your preference. Any queries about presentations or the submission process can be directed to hosa@conferencenational.com.au.
Submitting your Contribution
Submissions should be made using the HoSA 2025 Abstract Submission Portal.

Furthermore, an abstract submission template can be downloaded here. Please be informed, the template does NOT need to be used.
Presenter Registration
If your submission is accepted for presentation, you must register for the conference. Early Bird discounted rates will apply for all accepted applicants.
First time presenters are warmly encouraged to submit, and guidance on preparation and financial support (such as discounted registration) may be provided to these presenters on request and at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
